Antifoams for Metalworking fluids
Our antifoams are suitable for water miscible fluids and neat oils. They can be used in metalworking fluid concentrates and as tank defoamers.
Antifoams of our Lubricant Additives segment exhibit extraordinary stability and filterability, thus providing excellent long term antifoaming properties and leading to major cost savings. They are based on either mineral oils, vegetable oils, silicone oils or organomodified siloxanes (OMS), which are our core competence.
While organic antifoams show excellent compatibility but moderate efficiency, silicone-oil based antifoams offer high efficiency with often poor compatibility. Our specialty antifoams based on OMS provide the best of these two worlds - high compatibility combined with excellent performance. As an example, organomodified siloxane-based antifoams do not cause any detrimental effects in the finishing processes of treated parts, which are typical for silicone oil-containing antifoams.
In our regional competence centers we are able to design the properties of antifoams, such as compatibility and efficiency (function of surface activity), in order to meet your specific requirements. Long term stability of antifoams in metalworking fluid formulations must be achieved in order to minimize the addition of tank side antifoams.

Corrosion inhibitor and dirt carrier used in vibratory surface finishing compounds. Improves cleaning by removing grease or dirt from work peaces and allows the production of high quality smooth surfaces.
- TEGO® Antifoam 14
Highly compatible antifoam for the use in water-miscible metal working fluid concentrates - particularly for soluble oils and as tank side defoamer and in metal cleaners.

Tank side defoamer for wm MWF which combines long term efficiency with maximum compatibility
- TEGO® Antifoam 2080
Antifoam concentrate based on organomodified siloxanes for use in mineral oil based neat metalworking oils. Provides the same defoaming efficiency at much higher deaeration rate of the base oil compared to silicone oil based defoamers.
- TEGO® Antifoam 32 H
16 % active defoamer dispersion based on silicone oil and organo modified siloxanes. Excellent alkaline and electrolyte stability, even at elevated temperatures. Especially suitable for metal cleaners.
- TEGO® Antifoam 691
TEGO® Antifoam 691 is a highly efficient, 100 % active defoamer compound based on an organo- modified siloxane of a brand new structure.
- TEGO® Antifoam 692
TEGO® Antifoam 692 is a highly efficient, 100 % active defoamer compound based on an organo- modified siloxane of a brand new structure.

Highly compatible and therefore suitable for all kinds of water-miscible metal working fluids; can be used in concentrates and as tank side defoamer.

TEGO® Antifoam 891 is a 100 % active defoamer concentrate based on organo-modified siloxanes.
- TEGO® Antifoam MR 1015
Suitable for all kinds of wm MWF; can be used in wm MWF concentrates and as tank side defoamer, also recommended for the use in metal cleaners as it exhibits excellent alkaline stability even at higher temperatures
- TEGO® Antifoam MR 2124
Si-free tank side defoamer for water-miscible metal working fluids, provides excellent foam knock-down and improved filterability in comparison to competitive wax-based antifoams.
- VARINE® O
Corrosion inhibitor for greases rust preventives and industrial lubricants. Protects against strong acidic attack. Acts as emulsifier in soluble in water soluble metalworking fluids.
